Our Approach to Helping Kids Thrive
At Sensories, every child is met with care that honors their strengths, supports their individual differences, and meets them where they are. Our approach blends clinical expertise with creativity and compassion to help families feel seen, supported, and empowered.
FAMILY-CENTERED
Therapy happens where your life happens - in the rhythms of your routines and the spaces your child feels most at home. Our goal is to support your child by supporting the whole family.
DEVELOPMENTALLY-MATCHED
Together we set goals to guide intervention, but treatment is tailored to meet your child where they are. A "scaffolding" approach provides just the right amount of support during challenges so that your child develops confidence in their new skills.
STRENGTHS-BASED
We celebrate each and every quality that makes your child and family unique and honor the journey that has brought you this far.
Your Next Steps
Therapy, Play Groups, and parenting support — all in one place.

Our Story
Sensories began in October 2021 as a community-based Occupational Therapy practice, serving our kids in their homes and school settings. In 2023, we moved into the St. Matthews neighborhood with our first Brick and Mortar location, Sensories Playroom. Designed with the needs of exceptional kids - and their families - in mind, Sensories Playroom provides a home-like, sensory-safe space where kids of ALL abilities can build skills, connect, and learn from each other.
In 2024, we became the first and only DIR® accredited practice in Kentucky, reflecting our commitment to excellence in developmental, individualized, relationship-based care. Now, we've expanded into a second location, a sister space designed to compliment our original home-like environment with a larger, collaborative clinic model. Together, these spaces give families more choice, flexibility, and opportunities to connect.

As we grow, we stand behind our original vision that every child deserves to be seen, valued, and supported exactly as they are, while learning skills they need to thrive.
